And the governments keep track of it too.  Here's a U.S. stamp that was issued the same day that I turned 1 year old.  Mom was still a nurse at GA. Baptist Hospital.  Dad was still a mechanic at Delta Air Lines.  The "Food for Peace" anagram is themed with that incident that happened the day before I was born.  The anagram is "ROOF?  F.O.D.?  E.E.C?  PA? "  Click the image above to see what happened the day before I was born.   By the way, most in the aviation industry know that "F.O.D." is the acronym of Foreign Object Damage,  and refers to debris that has hit a propeller or been sucked into a jet engine.  And for you Millennials, the E.E.C. was the European Economic Community.
